During her time in school and university, Nicole Burger always asked herself how she can be of help to her community.

“I have always felt a strong gravitation towards women and empowering them. As a woman myself, I have faced different adversities and so have those around me,” says the St Helena Bay resident. This is why Burger started her All of Her initiative in May.

Burger explains that the initiative shines a light on educating and spreading awareness with regard to the need for feminine products such as sanitary pads and what happens when there is a lack thereof. “This initiative is important to me, because it creates conversation and brings the community together. It also shares the question, ‘how can I help’?”

Burger conducted her first successful sanitary drive on Friday 29 July and received over 800 sanitary pads from donors in the community. “I believe this initiative is important to other women because it makes them feel seen and understood. It is important because no woman should miss a day of work or school because they don’t have access to or cannot afford sanitary pads.”

Burger says her long-term vision for the All of Her initiative is to grow it throughout South Africa and host more sanitary pad drives with a larger impact, providing more women with female hygiene products.

Burger believes she can make a difference in the lives of women, one woman at a time.
