As part of Arbor Month, learners of Jurie Hayes Primary School played their part by planting trees. It was a collaborative effort by various stakeholders who secured trees for the Eco Club learners. The collaborative programme partnership was among ArcelorMittal Saldanha Science Centre, Sanparks West Coast National Park and Fossil Park. The trees, from the Ceres valley, were donated by the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and the Environment. Other partners involved were Elandsfontein Phosphate Mine and the Saldanha Bay Municipality.
