Airshows are back!
After a drought of almost three years, air shows in South Africa are back and back with a bang.
The South African air show calendar includes the Stellenbosch air show held in March, the Parys air show that took place in April, the Newcastle air show in June, and a number of upcoming air shows. One of the upcoming air shows is the inaugural West Coast Saldanha Bay air show. The last time the West Coast hosted an air show was in December 2017 at the AirForce Base Langebaanweg.
The first major Air Show took place in 1909 in France and in 1932 in South Africa. In the US and Canada alone, around 350 Air Show takes place every year.
The West Coast Saldanha Bay Air Show will, first and foremost, be family entertainment. It will be a perfect day out for mom, dad, and the kids, young and old. The thrilling action will leave you speechless.
The West Coast Air Show promises to be a must-watch event. Over and above the thrilling flying displays there will be lots of exhibitions. Local food vendors will be selling food and beverages.
The programme will start at 08:30 and last until 18:00. It will include planes, models, drones, military, cars, etc.
The West Coast Saldanha Bay air show will take place on Saturday 1 October at the Saldanha/Vredenburg Airfield.
