It is time for the fifth Picnic on the Bay event at the Saldanha Bay Hotel.

This year the event will take place on Saturday 29 April. Previous Picnic on the Bay events attracted many people to the West Coast. Nádi Truter, General Manger of the Saldanha Bay Hotel, said quite a few guests from the very first event had returned and attended every one since.

“In every picnic we have changed the entertainment line-up, attracting a different group of guests, in addition to the returnees,” she said. “Both artists and guests become one big happy group enjoying the same vibe and atmosphere at the hotel. It’s become a somewhat regular family gathering by now, and we can’t wait to see how the newest line-up will add to an already successful event.”

What makes this year’s more exciting? Well, RAAF, that is! Previously known as the Bottomless Coffee Band, they will be the new headliner on the day, set to “give a very exciting show, which also includes some original Afrikaans songs. We have ventured away from the predominantly Jazz theme this time, which makes the blend of our line-up very exciting.”

Truter said the vision for Picnic on the Bay is that it be a staple of Saldanha Bay, “always bringing bigger and better artists and growing the already awesome family.”

Guests can look forward to artists such as Just Adrian, the well-known regular Dawid van der Merwe and Kirky van Kirkwood. What is Picnic on the Bay without a delicious picnic basket filled with treats? Guests can look forward to an event like no other.

Tickets are R750, which admits two adults and includes a picnic basket with wine. Also, R100 per child under 7 years, which includes chicken strips and chips and a juice and R175 per adult for a ticket only.
