Mandrax and cash that could have been used in a drug transaction were confiscated by the police in Vredendal.


A young man of Vredendal was arrested last Monday 24 October for possession of drugs.

According to Captain Tania Helfrich, a spokesperson for the West Coast Police District, 139 Mandrax tablets and R473 cash that could have been used in a drug transaction were found in the possession of the 18-year-old.

Members of the Vredendal Crime Prevention Unit and Namaqualand Dog Unit executed a search warrant at a house in Mangaung, Vredendal North and seized the drugs and cash. The suspect appeared before the court on Wednesday 26 October.
