The furry friends of Langebaan Animal Care (LAC) need your help.
This well-known West Coast animal shelter, with its daily take-ins, is in need of funds, and to this end it is hosting its Grapevine Stroll again at the Langebaan Country Estate on Sunday 27 November.
With last year’s event such a huge success, raising a great amount of money for it, LAC is hosting its Grapevine Stroll again.
Organiser John Mitchell explained that costs to maintain the facility are exorbitant “and are only set to increase as the shelter is inundated with more and more requests to take care of animals in Langebaan and its surrounding area.”
With the community joining in on the day to assist LAC with raising funds to respond to a very real need effectively, the Grapevine Stroll is a 4 km fun walk on which visitors can enjoy five refreshment areas and taste wine, beer and gin. Not excluding the little ones, there will also be soft drinks available such as juice, water and cooldrinks. Children can also enjoy the jungle gym, jumping castle and so much more.
Two local singers will also add to the festive atmosphere. There will also be food on sale.
But, says Mitchell, the main aim of the day is to generate funds and to “show the general public what fantastic work is being done at the shelter. It is also a day when the general public can interact with volunteers from the shelter and an opportunity to interact with some of the animals of the shelter.” LAC has 30 dogs, 28 cats and 56 kittens.
Show your support and join in the fun on the day. Tickets are R80 for adults and R50 for children under 18. The event will start at 11:00. For more information, contact Mitchell on 083 650 0270.
