Advocate (Adv) Lizelle Roos was recently permanently appointed as the new Manager of Administration and Legal Support Services at Bergrivier Municipality. She assumed office as from 3 January. Her role is to ensure that her department functions effectively and purposefully, not only on a day-to-day basis, but with the strategic goals and vision of the municipality in mind. “Legal support services is essential for ensuring that local government operates and functions within the Constitutional framework and adheres to the law in general. Sound knowledge and application of legal principles, due diligence and compliance ensures accountability and responsiveness, not only on an intergovernmental basis, but also in respect of the output which a local authority has on local communities within its jurisdiction,” said Roos. Apart from being an advocate, she is also a nationally and internationally qualified and accredited mediator.
