It came to the attention of Badisa Weskus that bullying has become an epidemic among school children.
There have been several reports of bullying in schools. The social issue has led the organisation to design an awareness programme for the West Coast schools.
This awareness programme took place on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 May at Saldanha Primary school, Jurie Hayes Primary school, Langebaan Primary school and Noordhoek Primary school.
The programme is a way to empower children with problem solving skills and to allow them to participate in bettering their lives.
Badisa Weskus collaborated with Chauncey’s Epic Anti-Bullying Campaign team from Cape Town in order to spread awareness in schools by means of role play and a power-point presentation. At the end of the programme, Beverley Davids, founder and chairperson of Chauncey’s Epic Anti-Bullying Campaign, motivated the learners and teachers.
