The third annual Christmas in July is set to take place once again at Boesmanland Plaaskombuis in Langebaan on Saturday 20 July.
Hosted by Heavenly Haven Retreat, the event welcomed about 300 guests last year. According to Ruth McPherson of Heavenly Haven Retreat, the event has evolved into a cherished tradition, eagerly anticipated by locals and visitors alike and proved that Christmas does not have to come only once a year.
“It’s significance goes beyond mere celebration. It serves as a symbol of unity, joy, and the warmth of camaraderie that defines our community spirit. As we prepare to embark on this year’s festivities, we reflect on the memories created in years past and look forward to forging new ones in the spirit of togetherness and holiday cheer.”
The purpose of the event this year has taken on a special significance as Heavenly Haven Retreat has embarked on the “A Cinderella Story” initiative. The project aims at making young girls in the West Coast feel special in a gown on the day of their matric ball. McPherson said proceeds from this year’s Christmas in July event will be dedicated to supporting this noble cause. “The Cinderella Story initiative aims to uplift and empower individuals facing adversity, symbolising hope, transformation, and the power of community solidarity,” she said.
Guests attending the event can anticipate an array of entertainment and delights. “From mesmerizing performances by a dance group from Atlantis to the vibrant beats of a talented DJ, live music and an electrifying atmosphere. Local artist Tess E. Teshnique Malgas will also grace the stage.
At the event guests will receive a welcome drink, buffet dinner and can expect lucky draws. The event starts at 17:00. Tickets cost R400 per person. To book contact McPherson on 060 305 4590.
