PTF Business Consulting has partnered with Noordhoek Primary School in the Partners for Possibility programme.
The school recognises that educators form the heart of the school and one of the key focus areas should be the personal development of staff members.
Mervyn Ruiter, principal of Noordhoek Primary, expressed the need for personal development training, especially in the uncertain and ever-changing world of education.
Teachers have been under extreme pressure since March 2020. In this programme, named FORESTree, the focus is on self-care, relationship care and emotional care.
Alta Nell and Jenny Janse van Rensburg (mother-and-daughter team) co-facilitated the workshop. Nell is a HR Consultant and Leadership Developer, while Janse is an occupational therapist who specialises in mental health.
It was presented over three days, and the first session took place on Saturday 4 September.
The first day of the workshop allowed team members to voice their troubles, but also to focus on what they can do differently to ensure they maintain their mental health in these challenging times..
