Curro Langebaan’s Diversity Committee would like to thank all its learners, teachers, parents and the community for collecting 503 kg bottle tops and 29 kg bread-bag tags.

The project started in 2021 and the dedicated learners, parents, community and staff collected bottle caps and bread-bag tags over months and brought it to the school regularly.

This initiative was launched to recycle bottle tops and bread-bag tags in exchange for wheelchairs.

The big day of the handover took place on Thursday 27 May, when they were given to Maggie Cox of St Helena Bay, who represents The Sweethearts Foundation as a collection point for such donations.

The Sweethearts Foundation is a non-profit organisation that provides wheelchairs to those in need.

The school expressed a special thank you to their Diversity Committee for this initiative.

The school said the team continues to challenge it to do more, learn more and care more for communities.
