On Saturday 25 June, the NSRI St Helena Bay started recruiting volunteers from St Helena Bay and the surrounding areas. These volunteers will be training as Sea Rescue Crew members who will respond to all sea related emergencies. St Helena Bay is a busy fishing village and the NSRI has seen the need to establish a rescue station in the town. All rescue stations are manned and managed by the volunteers. The initiative received a lot of support from the community. Anyone wanting to join or support the sea rescue station can contact Mike Shaw on 083 252 1086 for more information.
