As part of the Mandela Day celebrations, Saldanha Bay Mayor André Truter spent the first 67 minutes of his special day in Louwville with Speaker Olwene Daniels and “Aunty Noetsie”, who gave food to the children in the community. His second stop was at Mfesane in Hopefield, where he joined Saldanha Bay municipal (SBM) employees, together with the SBM Youth Council to beautify Mfesane. Truter said his tribute on this year’s Mandela Day went to employees. “The people with their boots on the ground who are out in the field every day with pride and joy. Come rain or shine, they serve their communities with a big smile and giving heart.” Pictured are SBM employees with the SBM Youth Council.
