The Grade 6 learners of Diazville Primary School were tasked to do a project about environmental conservation. The Open Minded, a non-profit organisation, together with the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF) West Coast branch jumped in to assist with the project. Riaan Hendricks, community development worker at DEFF on the West Coast, shared with the learners more about their role in protecting marine life and the effect it has. The learners also had the opportunity to play their part and conducted a clean-up. Ashley Constant from The Open Minded said the clean-up was fun and educational for the learners.
