Two learners at Vredenburg High School have been chosen for an academic achiever’s excursion offered by Travel and Sport.

This recognised tour operator has sent learners to exciting destinations all over the world since 1995.

Over the years it was found that this programme serves as a strong incentive for students either to maintain their academic prestige or to strive to improve their marks.

Shaneal Kuilders and Phebe Noble of Vredenburg High School received this opportunity based on outstanding academic achievements.

The excursion begins today (Thursday 29 September) and learners will get a chance to visit the USA’s universities, particularly in Boston, New York and Washington DC. Kuilders would like to thank all the organisations, individuals, family and friends who made it possible for her to be part of the excursion. According to Noble, she realised it was due only to the generosity of the people in her life that this trip is possible.

“I would like to thank the parents of my dear friends, all my family and friends as well as the businesses who supported me,” she said.

The young ladies appeal to various stakeholders, organisations and businesses to support learners when approached.

“Offer them corporate sponsorship to assist them in striving for further academic excellence especially through international exposure, particularly because they, we are the leaders of tomorrow.”
