The local SANParks Honorary Rangers will be hosting its annual Wader Bash Lite event on Saturday 11 February from 06:00 to 16:00 in the West Coast National Park.
According to Ettienne Kotze, coordinator of the event, the day will involve 12 to 15 vehicles following the roads as with previous Wader Bash events.
The vehicle registration numbers and participant names will be supplied to the gates in advance on the day.
The Honorary Rangers and birding experts will be manning the bird hides and the access roads.
A maximum of four people will be allowed per vehicle, and the cost is R300 per vehicle. No entrance fees will be charged.
The Wader Bash Lite offers birding throughout the park with permission for the use of certain roads not open to the public.
There will be lucky draws for participants, and tea or coffee as well as rusks will be served at Geelbek Stables. Those interested in using the braai facilities must take their own wood, braai grid, meat and side dishes. Contact Kotze with any enquires on 082 462 0523, or email waderbash2022.wcnp@gmail.com
