“I am going to kill you today!”
These were some of the last words a woman from Vanrhynsdorp heard before her boyfriend, who is also the father of her children, stabbed her to death.
According to captain Tania Helfrich, a spokesperson for the West Coast Police District the woman (37) was attacked and killed on Saturday afternoon 18 February.
The neighbours overheard the couple having a loud argument next door and they also heard the man threatening to kill the woman.
Helfrich says the woman tried to run away after her partner (45) threatened her, but he overtook her and stabbed her three times with a knife.
She died at the scene from the wounds in her back, left chest and stomach. A video recording was made of the suspect while he was being arrested. Half a Mandrax tablet was found in his possession. The suspect, who has a criminal record, is facing charges of murder and possession of drugs.
