Newly appointed Group CEO at Momentum Metropolitan Jeanette Marais has strong roots on the Weskus. Her corporate life is split between Pretoria and Cape Town, and she travels nearly every weekend to be with her husband, Johann Cilliers, on their Paternoster farm. Locally she volunteers as chairperson of the Paternoster Project NPO, which manages various community projects in the town. She is actively involved in the NPO’s strategic planning and its current plans to fundraise and build a permanent children’s centre and volunteer accommodation in Paternoster. Alrika Hefers of the Paternoster Project said the group felt privileged to have Marais as the chair of the board. “Despite her busy programme she attends most meetings in person and is always available,” she said. “All NGOs need leaders in business to assist and create sustainability. She adds a corporate and business acumen to the project.” Photo: P du Toit
