Knowing that gospel is not about her but about God and His people is the driving force for gospel singer Peliwe Mbange.

The Langebaanweg resident’s love for music begin at an early age. Growing up in a musical home it was a no-brainer for her to be gifted with a talent and quality of voice that would serve as a blessing to those around her.

“Gospel is the only music I was introduced to at an early age and I fell in love with it, now it has become a tool I use to worship God and bring him forth to His people.

“Music and gospel, specifically for me, mean bringing people to Christ through music.” Focusing on her gospel music full-time, Mbange has had the opportunity to appear on Koortjies met Jonathan Rubain, one of the biggest gospel platforms in the country. She also had the opportunity to be in the top 16 of I Want to Sing Gospel back in 2010, both these opportunities a highlight for her.

I Want to Sing Gospel 2010 was the year I began my journey in the music field. It was a great learning experience and great to meet top performers in the gospel industry. The Koortjies met Jonathan Rubain was also an amazing experience. It meant my gift was acknowledged even though I was so nervous to be in such a big production with big artists like Rubain.”

Taking another big step in her music career, Mbange will host her very first gospel concert on the West Coast along with other local artists.

She said it has always been something she thought of doing. “But I felt I was never ready. Now I know I needed to be spiritually mature for such an assignment. Praise And Worship Encounter is not just a gospel concert; we want create an atmosphere where we get to experience the fullness of God.” She is ready to travel and share the gospel with her gifted voice.
