The All Saints Hopefield brigade hit the road to Mossel Bay recently.

The All Saints Hopefield Brigade of the local Anglican church took to the road again as part of a tour.

The brigade left the West Coast for Mossel Bay on Friday 29 September. Along the way they had a short road march in Heidelberg, but stayed over in Mossel Bay until Sunday 1 October, when they were part of the Regiment of George Diocese Drill and Band Rally.

There the brigade visited the Bartolomeu Dias Museum, Die Punt and Hartenbos for sightseeing.

The rally started with a service in the morning and the competition in the afternoon, when the visitors had the honour of opening the competition with a band display and All Saint’s drum line.

The performance went well and All Saints’ show was highly appreciated by the big crowd that was there.

It wasn’t all work and no play; after the competition the Hopefielders travelled further, to Knysna, where they stayed in Hornlee until Wednesday 4 October.

There they visited the Vermont Old Home Care Centre, where they handed small blankets and some hampers over. After that they had a visit to the waterfront and Leisure Island.

More sightseeing was in order as All Saints made their way home, visiting the well-known Heads and Plettenberg Bay on their way. They also had a roadshow in Heidelberg to help uplift the local brigade.

“We use this opportunity to thank all our donors and everyone who supported us during the year to make this tour a big success,” the Saints stated.
