Every girl dreams of that perfect dress for her matric ball. Trying to make this a reality Heavenly Haven Retreat will launch “A Cinderella Story” project.
The official launch of this initiative will take place on Saturday 9 March at Laguna Mall in Langebaan.
The “A Cinderella Story” initiative aims at making young girls on the West Coast feel special in a gown on the day of their matric ball. According to Ruth McPherson of Heavenly Haven Retreat the project means a lot as it aligns with its core values of community support and inclusivity.
McPherson said they believe in creating opportunities for everyone to participate in memorable events, regardless of financial constraints.
“Launching this project stemmed from our commitment to ensuring all members of our community can fully participate in and enjoy their graduation ceremonies. By providing gowns at no cost we aim to alleviate any financial burden students may face and make this milestone moment accessible to all.”
On the day of the launch ambassador Clayton Mnise and Mrs World Noble Queen International Chanelle Kriel will also be present in support of making the launch a success.
McPherson said she believed this project signified more than just receiving a gown for the class of 2024. “It represents inclusivity, support and the recognition of achievements. Many students may face financial challenges, and receiving a gown at no cost ensures they can fully partake in their graduation ceremonies without worrying about the expenses associated with purchasing or renting attire. This gesture demonstrates their school-community values and celebrates their accomplishments, regardless of economic background.”
Should you wish to donate a gown it can be dropped of at PartyShack at 104 Fairway Drive in Langebaan. For more information contact Livia van As on 071 643 1287.
