The annual West Coast Canoe Challenge was held on Saturday in Velddrif with 250 rowers and SUP paddlers taking to the Berg River to complete the 10 km or 20 km routes. The rowers launched from the Riveria Hotel with Bianca Leavitt (20 km) and Uli Hart (20 km), the big winners of the day. Rowers from all over the province took part in the event. According to Etienne Laubscher the day was a great success, and following the stricter lockdown regulations it was wonderful to see participants back on the water.
