The Riebeeckstad Methodist Church, under Reverend Sanda Ncama, in collaboration with Park Wholesalers in Welkom, has undertaken its annual winter initiative for those in need.

The partnership, spanning 14 years, provides soup, bread, fruit, and clothing to those in need every May. The event is held annually at the Riebeeckstad Police Station, where job seekers gather.

This year, Dirk Kotze of the Riebeeckstad Community Policing Forum joined the initiative with a substantial contribution. The drive benefited 89 people with warm soup, bread, fruit, and clothing.

Methodist Church mission convener Ella Motseke expressed gratitude to all sponsors, church members, and Brigadier Disebo Cezula, the station commander of Welkom, for allowing the use of police premises.
