Last week the Free State police arrested 1 106 suspects for crimes ranging from murder to attempted murder, rape, possession of illegal firearms and various drug related crimes.

Two men were arrested for inflicting multiple stab wounds on two women in Odendaalsrus. One of the women died from her wounds, with a third suspect still at large.

Two young women were kidnapped and raped after being lured by the suspects to ride with them. The Free State provincial commissioner has since issued a warning following the two disturbing incidents of kidnapping and rape.
