The monthly Welkom Publicity Flea Market has become firmly established at the Rovers Club, and major shake-ups and changes include a newly implemented safe crossing for both lanes in Tempest Road. The newly painted yield signs and the pedestrian crossing were given a new coat of colour by the Welkom Traffic Department under the watchful eye of Lauretta Williams, executive director of Community Support Services in the Matjhabeng Municipality. There are also reserved places inside the terrain for wheelchairs. “There are extra food and coffee outlets, and a much friendlier and workable layout,” says Brian Emmenis, chairman of the Welkom Publicity Association. There will be 110 stalls at the Father’s Day market, spotless toilets and increased safety and security. The market on 14 June promises loads of fun with a tea garden and live entertainment.
