An astounding 82 stalls marked the emergence of the brand new Welkom Publicity Association (WPA) People’s Market that has found a home on the grounds of the Welkom Technical High School (THS) this past weekend of Saturday, 10 February. “This is a market for the community and by the community. The WPA has moved their monthly flea market to the THS’ sports ground, and what a great success it was. The atmosphere amongst the exhibitors and public alike was memorable,” says Dulcie Harris of the WPA. Harris says that as friends of the THS, the WPA is extremely grateful for their new premises, and excited for the future, the prospects that lie ahead, and the endless opportunities to grow the market. The WPA board members would like to thank Eugene Rogers (headmaster of the school), the exhibitors, and the community for their support
