Drastic change is sorely needed

Concerned person of the Lejweleputswa District:

I am utterly disappointed with the level of service rendered at the Bongani Regional Hospital on 14 November.

I arrived at the hospital at 13:48 at the casualty department for adults. I then had to go and fetch my file at reception, which took me more than 90 minutes.

There was a young woman who is clearly passionate about her work and then there was an older woman who was slow.

When I say slow, I mean the younger woman would help about three to four people while the other woman would be stuck with one person.

I am not mentioning names, but you can go and check who the two people that reported for work were.

The hospital promotes “Batho Pele”, but here patients will die while waiting to be assisted. I know the hospital has its policies concerning the urgency of the patient, but this thing needs to be taken up with the supervisors and managers of this department.

I take my hat off to the woman who gave it her all to help us. Thank you ma’am, you were absolutely great in doing your job. I could feel the passion you have for the patients.

Keep this up and may the Lord grant you what your heart desires.

Let us get the work done, good people of our great regional hospital Bongani.

I know our people like to complain to each other, and they do not know the channels to follow to report service frustrations. Just imagine thousands of people experiencing this bad service rendered, but they do not get the chance to escalate the matter to the relevant departments.

I am fuming and I am trying to keep my composure on this matter. I hope my complaint will open your eyes and make you aware that there are certain people that are slacking in their jobs.

It is as though people have reported for work and ate on the clock, but have left the premises early. For a full day’s work, this needs to be checked. People cannot carry on like this.
