A foreign national was arrested in possession of 1,5 kg of CAT drugs valued at R400 000 in the Welkom CBD.
Members of the Welkom Public Order Policing initiated an operation in Welkom CBD when information was operationalised about a foreign national selling drugs at a fast food venue.
On 12 September the police searched the premisses and found 16 plastic packets containing CAT drugs in the ceiling.
The drugs weighed 1,485 kg. They also confiscated R600 cash. The 39-year-old man was arrested for dealing and possession of drugs.
A 47-year-old woman, a foreign national, was arrested at the same premises for illegal immigration.
The two suspects will soon appear in the Welkom Magistrates’ Court.
