The Welkom police are offering a R50 000 reward for information that can help trace the murderer of a woman who was found with her throat slit on a farm near Kutloanong on 31 August.
The police are still perplexed as to the identity of the young woman, and all that they have to go on are the clothes she was wearing at the time of her rape and murder. These were found scattered in the veld around her.
She was still wearing her wedding ring.
The gruesome discovery of this young women’s body sent shock waves through the community of Kutloanong.
The body was found by a resident of a farm near the K10 section of Kutloanong. The resident was busy cutting wood.
“The deceased could be 28-years-old. Nobody has been reported missing and we are appealing to anyone who might have lost contact with a relative, or who knows of someone who is missing, to report this to the Odendaalsrus police station,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, Lejweleputswa police spokesperson.
