Winds of (seasonal) change approach Goldfields

Victorian poet Christina Georgina Rossetti, famous for her romantic, devotional and children’s poems, wrote: “In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone.”

The seven-day forecast for the Goldfields predicts variable weather ranging from icy temperatures in the early morning, to near 30 °C on Friday.

True to the coming month of August, day wind speeds will be picking up, ranging between 11 km/h today, and 28 km/h on Friday. Goldfielders can expect quite a gusty state of affairs.

Weather-wise, the coldest day will be on Sunday when the wick hovers at 0 °C at day break, and expected to rise to 15 °C later on.

From today, early morning temperatures will vary between 2 °C on Tuesday to 6 °C on Friday, with day temperatures ranging in the mid to high 20s. Little or no rainfall is predicted for the week.
