The Northern Free State Clivia Club, will be hosting its annual Clivia Show, on Saturday, 14 September, at the Dutch Reformed Church Hall, on the corner of Stateway and Arrarat Road.
Judging by esteemed judge Hennie van der Mescht will commence on Friday and the show will be open to the public on Saturday from 08:00 to 16:00.
“Bring the family and enjoy this beautiful plant, in all its glory. Clivias will be on sale on Saturday and refreshments will be available,” says Pauline Mattana, spokerson for the club.
Mattana says they are offering all Clivia enthusiasts the opportunity of showing their beautiful plants.
“If you believe that you have a winning bloom, bring your cut flower in water or a potted plant, to the church hall on Saturday before 10:00, the winner will be announced at the end of the afternoon. Plants or flowers must be clearly marked with contact details.”
Currently there are 24 members, who meet quarterly. The club was formed 16 years ago with six members. New members are welcome.
