Give boxes filled with Christmas cheer to those in need

The Rotary Club op Flamingo Welkom and Widows Sons donated 25 filled shoeboxes to the Santa Shoebox organisation. Santa Shoebox is a national project. Certain items have to be put into the boxes. “All the boxes go through a central location and get handed out to underprivileged children in organisations that have registered. We have no idea who the recipients are. All we know is that we are given names and the ages, but not where they are from. Flamingo Rotary has supported this project for many years. Ian Buchanan of Widows Sons started supporting the project with us last year, and Petru Koch is the co-ordinator for the Welkom area,” says Jill Lombard.
