The 4K fun run is drawing ever closer and excitement is building. The Rotary Club of Uitenhage has encouraged everyone to get involved.

Not only for the fun of the event, but to support schools, clubs, churches and charity organisations raising their own funds by getting sponsored.

“It will be a fun occasion, and rumour has it that Luister FM will be broadcasting their morning show live from the airfield from 06:00 to 09:00,” the club’s Clive Hassell teased.

“The first prize for each of the four age-based categories is something you just can’t buy around here, it is confirmed as a flight in a light aircraft, so if you’re seven years old or older, you stand a chance. The categories are from the ages of seven to nine, 10 to 12, 13 to 15, and finally, 16 and above. These will be arranged at a future date to suit,” he explained.

There will be lots of other prizes as well, Hassell said, like the principal and learners from Solomon Mahlangu Senior Secondary School in KwaNobuhle. Those you plan on entering need to get fit and ready.

Although some entries may be available on the day, official entries close on Friday, February 16, and can be made online via the official Rotary Club of Uitenhage website, or physically at Klinicare pharmacies in Kariega (Drostdy & Levyvale), and Despatch. OK Minimark Mosel and OK Savalot in Thomas Gamble also have forms available for those interested.
