WELL-KNOWN Uitenhage businessman, humanitarian and Rotarian, Pana Panagis (67) passed away at 04:30 last Friday, September 6th in the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital, after a long sickbed.
Pana was a highly valued member of the Rotary Club of Uitenhage and will be remembered for his decades of involvement with the Uitenhage Street Carnival.
Pana’s joy for life transmitted wherever he was. He will be remembered for his open and honest attitude, strength, aliveness and his sense of humour.
He was born in Humansdorp and after his dad’s passing he ran the family roadhouse in Uitenhage, Harry’s Roadhouse (where Quest Service Station is today) for 40 years. His other businesses include Panhandle steak house and bar disco.
Pana will be lovingly remembered by his wife Athina and their children Lana, Harry, Leon and Vera as well as son in law Shaun and daughter in law Anna-Marie and granddaughter Zoe.
Pana’s memorial service will be held tomorrow (Friday, September 13th) at 15:00 at the Uitenhage Golf Club.
