A fire has broken out at the fields of the John Walton Secondary School in Kariega.
Our reporter on the scene, Candice Bezuidenhout, said the whole field of the school is on fire.
“It doesn’t seem like the school is affected, but it is very close to the school buildings and a nearby church,” Bezuidenhout said.
She added that firefighters are still on the scene, but the wind is strong.
“The fire keeps jumping as the wind changes direction, so it’s a bit hectic here,” she said.
At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown.
