Detectives at SAPS Uitenhage is seeking the community’s
assistance in tracing the next of kin of two unidentified persons.

According to police reports, on Saturday, February 6
at about 17:00, an unknown pedestrian was allegedly hit by a truck on the Old
Cape Road, Rooihoogte, Uitenhage. 

“The male, who is believed to be in his
30’s passed away on the scene.  The deceased person was clad in blue
trousers, a white shirt, Nike sandals and a brown cap.  He is of slender
build and medium length,” police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart said.

A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.      

The other deceased person’s skeletal remains were found in
the bushes next to Verwoerd Drive, Vanes, Uitenhage on Tuesday, February 9 at
about 11:40. 

“No clothing was found with the remains.  Circumstances
of the death is not known and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the
exact race, age, sex, date and possible cause of death.  An inquest docket
was opened for investigation,” Swart explained.

“Anyone who might be looking for a relative or who
might be able to assist with information that can lead police to their next of
kin, or the identity of the deceased, is requested to contact the investigating
