THE Uitenhage Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) was closed on Monday owing to a COVID-19 positive case. The centre will reopen on Wednesday, August 12.

This is according to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s communications office which on Sunday issued a press statement informing residents of the closure.

“On Saturday the city learnt of the positive results of one of our staff members at the Uitenhage centre and will therefore not open the centre for operation on Monday, 3 August as staff members are currently on quarantine,” read the statement.

However driver’s licence tests booked at the Uitenhage DLTC for Friday, 7 August and Saturday, 8 August will continue as planned as examiners from other centres will replace those in quarantine. The building has been deep cleaned and sanitised and is safe for use.

  • Residents are advised that the Korsten Driving Licence Testing Centre remains operational.
