MOUNTAIN bikers, runners and 4×4 fans wishing to take on off the beaten track scenic routes, this weekend have the opportunity to do exactly that.
The Samil Karoo Cycling Challenge is part of the Steytlerville Farm Market which will be held on Friday and Saturday at the showgrounds. The market starts tomorrow with a small stock show. There will also be a variety of stalls offering local farms’ best fresh produce, baked goods, Karoo lamb meat and much more.
The MTB races start Saturday at 07:00. Cyclists can take on a 5km pedal; 10km trail; 35km route; 60km or challenging 80km route. There also is a 10km trail run on Saturday.
A 4×4 route through the Grootrivierpoort from the Elands River Valley’s side, will be tackled on Saturday. The cost is R200/vehicle. Contact Sunelle 082 458 9580 or 082 458 9699.
