The Eastern Cape’s favourite family festival, the SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees, will feature a galaxy of 24 national stars on a giant stage, over 300 selected stallholders and plenty of all-day entertainment and action for the whole family.
It will be held from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26.
Jennifer Zamudio will open the entertainment on the main stage on Friday, with the final performance being by the family trio Juanita du Plessis, Franja and Ruan on the Sunday afternoon.
Early B is the headline act on Saturday evening, where he shares the stage with the likes of Lianie May, Kurt Darren, Appel, Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels and Van Pletzen.
Children’s entertainment includes a theatre production “Dinosourusse kan nie lees nie” (dinosaurs can’t read) presented by the ATKV.
There will also be carnival area for the young, with clowns, face painting and a play ball pond.
A culinary adventure awaits, with sushi, oysters, charcuterie platters and, of course, biltong, kudu burgers and traditional festival fare.
Conservation also features strongly at the festival, with displays by the South African National Parks Board and Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency, bee-keeping expos and more.
The festival will once again host the Eastern Cape’s biggest motor, agricultural and outdoor shows, as well as the Boerboel show.
Visitors to the festival will not have to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test.
