The Eastern Cape Health Department has issued a statement today, February 11, announcing the temporary closure of Rosedale Clinic following a shooting incident.

According to Siyanda Manana, spokesperson for the Eastern Cape Health Department, the Rosedale Clinic on Acacia Avenue was closed today because a stray bullet allegedly struck the clinic during the incident.

“The shooting incident occurred near the clinic between rival gangs,” he added.

The closure of the clinic was a preventive measure to protect both staff and patients.

The spokesperson also mentioned that despite the current violence in the area, the clinic will reopen tomorrow, February 12.

The motive behind the conflict between the gangs remains unknown.
