SAPS Despatch detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next-of-kin after a fatal accident on the R75 that claimed the life of an unknown pedestrian on Saturday 27 September 2025.
SAPS spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that according to information gathered on the scene, at approximately 22:00 on the above-mentioned date, the driver of a vehicle was busy dropping off workers at Bayland.
The driver of the vehicle made a U-turn; the road was dark, and the pedestrian was in the middle of the road. The driver was unable to avoid colliding with the pedestrian and hit him with his vehicle (bakkie).
She added that the deceased is unknown and was wearing blue trousers, a red t-shirt, a green jacket, and a blue beanie.
“A culpable homicide case was opened and is under investigation,” Janse van Rensburg said.
