SAPS Despatch are seeking the community’s assistance with a culpable homicide investigation that occurred on Saturday, 19 April 2025, on the Old Uitenhage Road involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. The driver allegedly did not stop at the accident scene.
According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 17:30 on the abovementioned date, the deceased, 62-year-old Sandra Lottering, was coming from Despatch towards Khayamnandi.
“As she was crossing the road, a white VW Jetta 2019 model bumped her; she died on the scene and the vehicle drove off without stopping at the accident scene. At the location, the SAPS members found a right-side mirror and a lower car cover,” she said.
She added that SAPS Despatch are looking for the driver of the white 2019 VW Jetta.
