The Rotary Club of Uitenhage South recently hosted an engaging Careers Day for Grade 9 learners at Solomon Mahlangu Secondary School in KwaNobuhle.
With learners preparing to make critical subject choices by year-end, the event aimed to equip them with valuable insights into potential career paths and university requirements.
Providing both general guidance and specialist advice, the Rotary Club invited esteemed professionals to share their expertise.
Karsans Attorneys were represented by their head and two newly qualified lawyers, who offered in-depth perspectives on legal careers. Retired Uitenhage Provincial Hospital CEO, Marilyn Klaasen, delivered an enlightening presentation on the diverse opportunities available in the medical field.
Additionally, Leo Doria provided crucial information on university applications, explaining the points system and how NSFAS funding operates, ensuring learners are equipped for informed decisions about further education.
Rotary Club president, Clive Hassell, served as Master of Ceremonies, ensuring a smooth and impactful event for attendees. With a blend of practical advice and expert insights, the Careers Day provided learners with valuable tools to shape their future academic and professional journeys.
