SINGER and songwriter Raven Bleu first appeared on the local music scene during 2004 with his version of Miriam Makeba’s Patha-Patha and Mama Tembu’s Wedding and since then he has sung his way to the top and achieved great success.

Born and raised in Despatch he had big plans to achieve most of his dreams and goals.

“I’ve always said that one day I’m going to do a big musical and conquer a stadium and I did,” said Raven Bleu.

During 2011 he took part in a massive musical version of The Passion of Christ in which he portrayed one of the leading roles.

All four shows, held over the Easter Weekend in the Sand du Plessis theatre in Bloemfontein, were sold-out.

During 2012 Raven Bleu did four performances during at the Annibrand festival in Kariega.

During 2013 he was the only local performer booked to take part in one of the biggest farewell concerts held in Gqeberha.

It was held in honour of the late Nelson Mandela and the farewell concert took place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and welcomed more than 40 000 concertgoers.

Raven Bleu has also performed at the KKNK and at corporate events for Goodyear and Volkswagen.

After a six-year hiatus, Raven Bleu will on 17 December return to the stage, performing at the crowning of Mrs Gqeberha.

The event promises to be a showstopper.
