GRATITUDE is felt all around at Kooweekidz Educare in Levyvale, Uitenhage towards the nurses at Park Lane Clinic as they continue to provide regular health checks on learners at the pre–school despite the various challenges posed by the COVID–19 pandemic.
According to Dara Rockman, the principal of Kooweekidz Educare, for the last four years the nurses from Park Lane Clinic have been visiting the pre–school twice a year to provide learners with immunization injections, vitamin A drops, deworming and various health checks.
“The visits from nurses from the local clinic mean a great deal to us as teachers because they give us peace of mind knowing that the learners are getting their important immunizations as well as regular check–ups,” said Rockman.
“In addition, parents appreciate that Park Lane Clinic provides this much needed health care service which is very convenient because they don’t have to sit in long queues at the clinic especially during the pandemic. The visits from the nurses help to assure the parents that their children’s health is being monitored.”
Since the pre–school has been receiving regular health checks from nurses at the local clinic, Rockman said she believed the nurses and the clinic deserved praise for their hard work which often went unnoticed by the public.
“I would like to thank Park Lane Clinic for offering this free service to our learners,” said Rockman.
“I would also like to give a big thank you to the friendly Sister Naeema Barends who regularly sends the school reminders of their next visit.”
