THE Premier of Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane together with MEC of Health Nomakhosazana Meth and various other dignitaries will visit Eastcape Midlands TVET College (EMC) in Kariega today, to intensify the Vooma Vaccination drive.

This Vooma Vaccination drive at the EMC High Street Campus will aim at mobilizing and encouraging students and staff of EMC to get vaccinated to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Student health and wellness must be aligned to the needs of the students and epidemics that afflict graduate competency and skills development. It is therefore pertinent that students are empowered to become health and wellness ambassadors who would take their experiences and learnings into their communities to achieve a multiplier effect,” said Kate Oladimeji, EMC Communication Supervisor.

Provision has been made to provide services to approximately 2 000 students during this Vooma drive from 09:00 till 13:00. The vaccines are free of charge and other health and wellness services will be made available.

The Premier will be joined by the Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Nqaba Bhanga, as well as the CEO of Higher Health Prof. Ahluwalia and other dignitaries.
