Police in Despatch are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal collision between a white Isuzu bakkie and a pedestrian at 04:45 on Saturday, 29 January on the R75, Despatch.
According to Captain Gerda Swart, police spokesperson, it is alleged that the driver of the Isuzu bakkie was travelling on the R75 in the direction of Kariega when an unknown man suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle.
“The driver collided with the unknown pedestrian, who passed on at the scene. The pedestrian (age about 60) was clad in a pair of blue jeans, a thick green jersey and a pair of black formal shoes,” Swart said.

Investigations are continuing.
