GQEBERHA – Police in the Eastern Cape have intensified their search for one of Nelson Mandela Bay’s most dangerous fugitives, as authorities appeal to the public for assistance in locating a suspect linked to multiple violent crimes.
Thembinkosi Mangesi (35) known by the alias “Terra” has been on the run since 2023 after being implicated in a string of serious violent crimes that terrorised communities in the Kariega and Booysens Park areas.
According to the Provincial Serious Violent Crime Investigation Unit, Mangesi faces charges related to five separate murder cases, as well as business robbery, attempted murder and car hijacking committed during 2023.
The suspect has successfully evaded arrest for nearly two years, prompting police to classify him as one of the metro’s most wanted individuals.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Wright from the SAPS Provincial Serious Violent Crime Investigation Unit is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information about Mangesi’s whereabouts to come forward immediately.
