SAPS Despatch detectives are investigating a culpable homicide case following the death of a pedestrian on Saturday, October 7 in Despatch.
It is alleged that at approximately 20:00, SAPS Despatch responded to a complaint of an alleged hit and run accident on R75 Bayland, Despatch. On arrival, they found a body of a 54-year-old man, lying close to the pedestrian crossing on the R75.
“A case of culpable homicide was opened and are under investigation. Anyone who can assist with any information relating to the vehicle involved can contact SAPS Despatch on 082 441 7828 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station or send information via MYSAPSAPP,” Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg of SAPS said.
