Hoe oud is te oud? Seniors van Despatch sê “moet ons nie afskryf nie”, ons is nie te oud om pret en oefening te geniet nie!
The ACVV Despatch Dienssentrum has been running TrimGim classes for senior citizens since 1990.
These classes are conducted every Monday and Thursday morning, by the highly competent and qualified Rut Davis. The ACVV Dienssentrum also has a satellite branch community centre in Khaymandi called Nomsano. Joint TrimGim classes are conducted in Despatch.
TrimGim is the new buzzword among senior citizens, who are active, young at heart and looking for an opportunity to socialize.
The most senior participant is 89 years old and still going strong!
Once a year the ACVV and NMMU (Nelson Mandela Metro University) arrange a special seniors day, where all the community centres, old age homes and groups, from the Eastern Cape come together to celebrate life, health and also compete.
This year’s event will take place on 15 August.
